Accessibility Page

This website is run by Fera Science Ltd. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
  • We've also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
Below are details on how to adjust some settings for commonly used browsers. AbilityNet also has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Layout

To conform to W3 accessibility guidelines, cascading style sheets have been used to create the layout of this site. However, the functionality and content are independent of this technology and users may disable the default style sheets to maximise flexibility with font resizing or implement their own style sheets in their browser preferences. Please visit the W3 accessibility guidelines and RNIB web access centre for more information.

How accessible this website is

The content of this website has been designed to work towards Priority 2 of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. We aim to continually make improvements to meet these guidelines. The design and coding of the website has been implemented to support adaptive technologies (such as screen readers and text-only browsers).

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • PDF documents are not all fully accessible to screen reader software
  • you cannot skip to the main content when using a screen reader
  • Some icons used in fields have no alternative text due to development constraints

If you find any problems not listed on this page or think we're not meeting accessibility requirements, please contact us using the details below.

Technical information about this website's accessibility

Fera Science Ltd is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to 'the non-compliances' listed below:

  • PDF documents are used on this site and may not be fully accessible
  • The user cannot skip to the main content
  • Some icons used in fields have no alternative text
Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations:

  • User's cannot skip to the main content from the top of the page.
  • PDF documents are used on this site and may not be fully readable by all screen-readers.
  • Some icons used in form fields do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access that aspect of the information. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content). To try and mitigate this, alternative attributes have been added to the search bar or whatever the icons are attached to do provide as much information as possible.

This statement was first prepared on 23.04.2026 and will be reviewed in 12months time.

This website was last tested on 24.04.2026 against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.

The test was carried out by the Fera development team. The most viewed pages were tested using a combination of automated testing tools and first-hand inspection by our website team. A further audit of the website was carried out to the WCAG 2.2 AA standard
